Our pricing is deliberately simple: £495 for a single EyeDetect® test, £800 for a couples test where both partners are examined in the same visit, no travel charge within 50 miles of our Darlington base, and 60p per mile beyond that. You see the full price, including any travel, before you pay anything.

There are no add-ons for the things people are commonly charged extra for. The written report is included, the pre-test consultation is included, and the examiner travelling to you is included within the free radius.
Distance is the main variable. Everything within 50 miles of Darlington is covered by the £495 price — that includes Durham, Newcastle, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Teesside, York and Harrogate. Beyond that we add 60p per mile, calculated from your postcode and quoted before you commit.
The number of people tested matters too. A couples test in one visit is £800 rather than two separate £495 bookings, and workplace or corporate testing of several people in one visit is quoted at a reduced per-person rate.
A hired meeting room, where you would rather not be tested at home, is charged at cost and always agreed with you first.
Bookings are held with a £50 deposit, which comes off the total. The remaining balance, including any travel already quoted, is collected before the appointment — we send a secure card link, or you can pay cash on the day if you have arranged that with us.
Nothing is charged beyond the quoted total. If travel is involved, the mileage figure you agreed is the mileage figure you pay.
