Waiting is the worst part, so this is a short answer: you get a verbal result on the day of the test, and a written report shortly afterwards.
Below is what happens in between, and the handful of things that can add time.
EyeDetect® scoring is automated. The recorded eye data is processed against a validated model rather than interpreted by hand, so the outcome for each question is available minutes after the examination finishes.
Your examiner gives you that result before leaving, in private, and explains what it does and does not establish.
A polygraph chart is scored by the examiner, and in some cases sent for independent quality review. That is good practice, but it means a written outcome can take days rather than minutes.
Automated scoring also removes examiner subjectivity from the equation, which is part of why we use it.
The report sets out each question exactly as asked, the outcome for each, and the stated accuracy of the method. It is issued to the person tested and the person who commissioned the test, and to nobody else.

Two things mainly. First, an inconclusive or invalid test — poor data quality, or an examinee who did not engage with the statements — which means discussing a retest rather than issuing a result. Second, a test with more issues than one session should carry, where a second appointment is the right answer.
Everything else, including travel to you anywhere in the UK and Ireland, happens inside the same appointment.
From booking, most people are tested within the same week. On the day itself, allow around 90 minutes: pre-test discussion and question agreement, roughly 30 minutes of recorded examination, then scoring and a face-to-face explanation of the outcome.
The written report follows once the data has been reviewed, normally inside 24 to 48 hours. It lists each question exactly as asked, the outcome for each, the conditions on the day and any factor that affected data quality — which matters if the report is going to be read by anyone other than you.
Reports are released as a secure link rather than an open attachment, so the document is not sitting in an inbox that someone else can reach. You do not need to create an account to open it.
If a solicitor or employer needs a copy, tell us who and we will send it directly with your written instruction, which keeps the chain of handling clean. Nobody receives a copy who has not been named by the person entitled to the report.
